UHD uses a committee method to thoughtfully determine our every step and our board of directors. Often, we seek committee members within the disability community to support the most essential elements of our processes. To learn more about our process and if this is something you would enjoy, check out the information here and let us know if you are interested.

Who can serve as a Committee Member?
YOU are a great candidate to be a committee member if you:
Welcomes all walks of life.
We build very diverse panels and therefore seek individuals from a range of disciplines, experiences in community, geographies, ages, genders, races, abilities, and ethnicities. No prior experiences needed.
We are happy to make accessibility accommodations to have you serve as a committee member if you have any accessibility needs.
What are the benefits for serving?
Committee Members receive a stipend in exchange for your volunteer serving on a committee and if applicable, subsidize reimbursement. We sincerely thank you for your consideration, time, and effort in serving on our Committees.
By serving you can expect to:
How much work is it to be a Committee Member?
It can average 25 hours a year (2-5 hours monthly) of your time to serve as a Committee member. We acknowledge that this is a big-time commitment and ask you to serve at least 6 meetings per year, but there is no requirement for serving more than once.
Committee Members will be added to our mailing list.
How can I learn more about serving UHD and the community?
If you are new to the UHD Committees and would like to join, please submit your information via email [email protected]
Committees are held throughout the year. You may hear from us quickly or it may take a while depending on when you inquire and when it aligns with our schedule.

- A community member with professional disability experiences.
- Are at least 18 years old and
- Are dedicated to progressing disability social justice and changes within the Hmong community.
