| About
Zoua Vang is a fierce advocate and communications pioneer with more than 30 years of experience telling compelling stories and amplifying voices. Zoua was an award-winning journalist and also the first Hmong television broadcaster to work in mainstream American media.
After her journalism career, Zoua became the founding director of the policy and communications department at a children’s advocacy organization where she worked to advance initiatives that improved the lives of young people. Her work deepened when she was forced to become a staunch champion for her daughter who has a disability. Her vision for an inclusive and equitable community is what drives her advocacy efforts.
Zoua was named a 2024-2025 MN LEND Fellow at the University of Minnesota and continues to push for system changes that will uplift individuals with disabilities and their families. Her unique blend of lived experience and professional expertise make her a powerful voice for change.
